Looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a medical administrative assistant!
The available position is that of a salaried full time administrative assistant in a surgical practice based out of the Saint John Regional Hospital. The successful applicant will serve in a variety of roles in a collegial and energetic office setting. Exceptional customer service is a priority. The ability to independently prioritize tasks, while following through on them to completion is required. There may be opportunities for flexibility in scheduling and/or remote work depending on qualifications and performance.
Responsibilities
-Answer and screen phone calls, mail and faxes, directing inquiries as necessary
-Schedule and confirm patient appointments and surgical procedures
-Checking in patients for office visits
-Organize and maintain patient files and electronic medical records
-Assist with insurance verification and claims processing
-Coordinate meetings and events
-Medical transcription
-Upkeep and maintenance of the office (ie ordering supplies, managing computers etc.)
-Data entry for clinical and research purposes
-Ensuring the security of confidential patient and practice information
-Communication with patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, nurses, physicians and medical learners (medical students, surgical residents)
Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. LPNs welcome to apply
-2+ years of administrative support experience (medical setting preferred)
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
-Experience with electronic medical records is an asset
-Strong communication skills, both written/typing and verbal
-Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
-Proficient typing and transcription
-High level of motivation, maturity and dependability
